Peak climbing is considered one of the hardcore adventures in the mountains. Spanning over several weeks, this adventure presents a challenge to climbers of all levels. The same challenge, that this adventure provides to climbers, will act as a dare and excitement for them. So for that reason, those who complete the peak climbing adventure will look out for the next challenge in the mountains and pursue mountaineering.
But before doing mountaineering, we want to tell them that they can pursue another peak climbing challenge. That is, they can pursue two peak climbers in a single journey. For those, who have already completed a peak climbing journey and looking for another challenge, the spectacular Mera Peak and Island Peak via Amphu Laptsa will be the perfect one. Combining two great trekking peaks of Everest with one daring high-altitude mountain pass, this will be the perfect adventure that anyone could ask for.
While summiting the two trekking peaks, Mera Peak (6476m) and Island Peak (6189m), you will undoubtedly be watching the greatness of the 8oooers unfold before your eyes. Especially, you will be able to see five of the ten highest mountains in the world: Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Kanchenjungha, and Cho-Oyu in their excellent state from these peaks.
Therefore, to complete this adventure, we expect you guys to come with the perfect physique and bold determination. Other than that, we will take care of everything and lead you through the routes most securely and safely. Furthermore, to give you the details regarding the trip we have managed to compile essential information for this trip. You can go through every section and ask us questions if there is any confusion related to this trip.
Here you are in Nepal! You are officially entering this amazing country today. As soon as you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will see one of our representatives waiting to welcome and pick you up. Following the meeting in person, he will then take you to the hotel in a private car.
You are welcome to the hotel and you are now free to take a short break to recover from your jet lag. Once you've given your body enough rest, you will head for the trip briefing at our office. Here we will explain everything related to the trip. If you have any questions, you can ask us here. Right after the trip briefing finishes, you can go into a store to get the supplies and equipment needed for the climb, and then spend the remaining time exploring around. Today is one of the most fun and exciting days in the Kathmandu Valley. After having breakfast this morning, you will begin our guided tour of the Kathmandu Valley's historical monuments. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites one after the other with the guide's assistance, which includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa. Because of air traffic in Kathmandu airport, flights to Lukla have to depart from Ramechap's Manthali Airport. For that reason, we must drive to Ramechap earliest possible to make the early morning flight to Lukla. Following our arrival in Ramechaap, we will get ready and eventually take a fifteen-minute flight from Manthali airport to Lukla. After passing over the magnificent hills and mountains, we will then shortly arrive at the Tenzing Hillary airport. As soon as we arrive in Lukla and get off the aircraft, we'll then present you to the crew members.
After introducing our crew members, we will then start our trek shortly. Our trek will begin with a walk through the forest, followed by a descent to Surke village and Pakhepani. Walking along the trails, you will be able to see the rhododendrons blooming. Finally, after walking for several hours, you will arrive at Paiya, from where you may enjoy amazing views of Kongde Ri, Khatang, and other high mountains. Overnight at the lodge in Paiyan.

We are going to trek towards Panggom through Paiya today. The trail first descends to a wooden bridge and then climbs once more to reach Kari La pass. At a height of 2990 meters, this pass offers breathtaking views of the Khari-Khola Valley and Cho-Oyu. Proceeding farther, you will come across waterfalls and thick forests before arriving at the beautiful Panggom village. For your Information, Pangkoma is the original name of this village, not Panggom. Overnight at the lodge in Pangkoma village.

From Pangkognma village we will head upwards to Panggom La pass for approximately half an hour. This Pass will act as a gateway to the Hinku Valley for us. From here, we will head towards the east and then to the north direction which leads downwards to the Hinku River. Again, we will ascend up to the high camp near the Surke La. Then from here, we will pass through the terraced slopes which consist of maple, rhododendron, and fir forests, and eventually reach Nashing Dingma. Overnight at the lodge in Nashing Dingma.

Right after breakfast at the lodge, we will proceed on our journey towards Source La and then follow the path that will lead to Surke Dada Ridge. From here you will see that the eastern side of the Himalayas is fully exposed. From here, you will follow the Hinku Valley and Mera Peak and reach Chalem Kharka. Here we will set our camp and explore the nearby areas to discover the new scenes of the valley and the mountains.

As we walk through the ridge today, we will ascend and pass the ridge that is situated at a height of more than 4000 meters. This altitude signifies that the tree line has been crossed and you will begin to see the rocky cliffs. Also, you will begin to see eagles and vultures circling in the sky for their prey. Further from this point, we will descend to the Panch Pokhari, which consists of five lakes next to the Chunbu Kharka River. Right here, our destination Chunbu Kharka is located, where we will be setting our camp for the overnight stay.

Today is the first acclimatization day of our Journey. On this day, you will get a moment of relief as you will not be heading to another point. Since the altitude is significantly increasing, you will do shorter hikes around the area to adjust your body to the environment. There are so many places to discover around the Chunbu Kharka area, so you should explore and come back to the camp for an overnight stay.

Today our path will follow the Hinku Valley which goes through several ridges before finally descending to the rhododendron forests. From here, we will come across the destruction that resulted from the knock of the dam at the valley. Here, you can see that the valley has come to ruin from this event. Following on, we will pass through the rugged riverbank and then set up our camp on the beautiful grassland for the overnight stay.

Today we will enter the Hinku Valley for real. After crossing the the bridge of the yak herders we will arrive at the route that connects to Kothe village. This is the charming village, through which the climbers often pass to approach the Mera Peak. On this 10th day, we will stay here in the lodge. The next day, we will move on from this village. In the early morning next day, we will be walking beside the river that is surrounded by stunning mountains. We will particularly be walking in the magnificent surroundings of Kusum Kanguru and Mera Peak.
Walking gently for a while, we will pause for lunch and relax as we reach Saurya. After resting, we will now travel towards the Tagnag, where we will come across a historic monastery. Here, you can receive blessings before heading upward to Tangang. Overnight at the lodge in Tagnag.

We will leave Tangnang today and head to Mera Base Camp. As we follow the glacier's moraine to dig Kharka, you will be treated to amazing views of Keshar Khang and Charpate Himal. From this point on, you'll ascend once more through the moraines to arrive at the Hinku and Shar glacier faces. After arriving there, you'll ascend swifter to Khare, which is our final destination for the day. From this point, you will be able to capture stunning views of the visible path to Mera Peak. Overnight at the lodge in Khare.
