Nagi Gumba is one of the most peaceful hiking destinations on the northern edge of Kathmandu Valley. Located inside Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, this beautiful Buddhist nunnery is surrounded by dense forest, fresh mountain air, and stunning views of Kathmandu Valley. The hike is ideal for families, beginners, nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a short escape from the city's busy life. Along the trail, you can enjoy birdsong, peaceful pine forests, and a calm atmosphere before reaching the monastery, where visitors are requested to maintain silence and respect the spiritual environment. Nagi Gumba is also a great place for meditation and relaxation. The route from Panimuhan (Muhan Pokhari), Budhanilkantha, to Nagi Gumba is one of the park's most popular short hiking trails.

Entry Fees

Visitors entering Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park are required to pay an entrance fee:

  • Nepali Citizens: NPR 100 per person
  • SAARC citizens: NPR600 per person 
  • Foreign Nationals: NPR 1,000 per person 
     

Carry cash, as payment is generally made at the park entrance. Entrance is available from 7 am to 7 pm. There is a pay parking facility at the entrance gate if you decide to take your own vehicle.
