Overview

The Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Ride Back offered by Trek Ways Nepal is a perfect adventure for travelers who have limited holiday time but still dream of trekking to the Mount Everest Base Camp. This thoughtfully designed itinerary allows you to experience the classic Everest Base Camp trek while avoiding the long and physically demanding return walk on the same trail. The journey begins in Kathmandu with a direct flight to Lukla, providing maximum convenience and saving valuable time; however, early booking is highly recommended as early priority is given for these flights. From Lukla, the trek follows the legendary route through beautiful Sherpa villages such as Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep, offering breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many other Himalayan giants. Walking through Sagarmatha National Park, crossing high suspension bridges, visiting ancient monasteries, and experiencing the warm hospitality and unique culture of the Sherpa people make this trek truly special. The highlight of the journey is reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters, a moment filled with pride and achievement, followed by a hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint to witness stunning sunrise and sunset views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.

After completing the trek, instead of retracing the same path back, you will enjoy a scenic helicopter flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu, flying over glaciers, icefalls, deep valleys, and dramatic mountain landscapes, making the return journey an unforgettable experience in itself. This helicopter ride not only saves several days of trekking but also reduces physical strain, making the trip ideal for those who prefer comfort without missing the adventure. Trek Ways Nepal ensures a worry-free Everest Base Camp experience, handling all logistics including flights, permits, accommodation, meals, experienced licensed guides, and safety support throughout the trek. With professional service, personalized attention, and a strong commitment to safety and quality, Trek Ways Nepal delivers one of the best short-holiday Everest trekking options available. The Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return is ideal for busy travelers, luxury seekers, and anyone who wants to experience the magic of the Himalayas in an efficient, comfortable, and memorable way.

Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your comfortable hotel. After some rest, explore nearby areas and shop for last-minute trek essentials. In the evening, attend a short trek briefing. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, enjoying spectacular Himalayan views and an exciting landing. After meeting your porters, begin the trek along the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding, a 3.5-hour walk. In the evening, visit a nearby monastery for acclimatization. Overnight at a lodge.

After breakfast, begin trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and entering Sagarmatha National Park at Jorsale. After lunch, continue through pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant hub of the Everest region. Enjoy an evening acclimatization walk and sunset views. Overnight at a lodge.

Today is an important acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar to adapt to the altitude. Visit the Sherpa museum, then hike to Syangboche Airport and the famous Everest View Hotel. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks before returning to Namche for an overnight stay.

After breakfast in Namche, begin trekking along a scenic trail with stunning views of Thamserku, Kantega, and Kusum Kangri. Descend to Phunki Tenga, then climb through lush rhododendron forests to reach the peaceful village of Tengboche. Overnight at a lodge.

Enjoy an early breakfast surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks before trekking toward Dingboche. The trail descends through forests, crosses the Imja Khola, and ascends past Pangboche, offering stunning views of Ama Dablam. Continue alongside the glacial river to reach Dingboche. Overnight at a lodge.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization as we trek to the 5,060-meter Nangkartshang Viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Imja Valley, and surrounding peaks. After enjoying the scenery and taking photos, we return to Dingboche to rest, relax, and prepare for the next stage of the trek toward Lobuche.

After yesterday’s acclimatization, today’s trek challenges you as you ascend the main trail through the wide valley beneath Tawache and Cholatse. Continue climbing toward Lobuche, located at the base of the towering Lobuche Peak. Passing Thukla Pass and the Sherpa Memorial, we reach Lobuche Village. Expect some altitude effects. Overnight at a lodge.

Today is the moment you’ve been waiting for—reaching Everest Base Camp. From Lobuche, trek along the Khumbu Glacier, enjoying views of Pumori, Nuptse, and Everest. Arrive at Gorakshep for lunch and leave your belongings, then hike two more hours to Base Camp. After soaking in the views and climbers’ stories, return to Gorakshep, with an optional sunset visit to Kala Patthar. Overnight at a lodge in Gorakshep.

Early in the morning, our guide will wake you for a trek to the top of Kala Patthar to witness the spectacular sunrise over Everest, followed by breakfast at Gorakshep. Afterward, take a helicopter ride to Kathmandu, stopping briefly in Lukla for refueling. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a relaxing day. In the evening, enjoy a special dinner at Fire and Ice Pizzeria, where we’ll share trek stories and gather feedback. Overnight stay at your Kathmandu hotel.
