Good news for trekkers! Manaslu is ready to welcome you again.

The District Administration Office (DAO), Gorkha, has officially issued a notice confirming the reopening of the Manaslu Trekking Trail and Larkya Pass Trail following the recent flooding in the Budhi Gandaki River. The flooding caused damage to sections of the trekking trail and bridges, particularly around the Namrung area of Chumnubri Rural Municipality. Following the incident, necessary repair, maintenance, and restoration work was carried out to make the affected sections safe and operational for trekkers. With the damaged structures restored, trekkers can now once again travel along the Manaslu Circuit and Larkya Pass route, while remaining alert and following local safety instructions.

Manaslu Is Ready to Welcome You

The Manaslu Circuit is one of Nepal's most spectacular trekking experiences, offering a remarkable combination of dramatic Himalayan scenery, traditional mountain villages, Buddhist culture, ancient monasteries, and the warm hospitality of local communities. From the lower Budhi Gandaki Valley to the high mountain landscapes surrounding Larkya Pass, the journey takes you through some of the most beautiful and culturally rich areas of the Manaslu Conservation Area.

After the recent disruption, the reopening is welcome news not only for international trekkers but also for local guides, porters, lodge owners, transport operators, and communities whose livelihoods depend on tourism.

Trek with Safety as Our First Priority

At Trek Ways Nepal, we understand that trail conditions in the Himalayas can change quickly, particularly after heavy rainfall, floods, landslides, or other natural events. For this reason, our team does not rely only on general reopening announcements. Before proceeding each day, our guides check the latest local conditions with relevant local authorities, lodge owners, and people living along the trail.

Our guides continuously monitor:

  • Trail and bridge conditions
  • Weather and rainfall
  • River and landslide risks
  • Local authority safety information
  • Conditions at higher elevations
  • Availability and condition of lodges
  • Any new restrictions or local warnings

If conditions become unsafe, the safety of our guests comes first. Our guides will adjust the itinerary or stop the trek when necessary.
