Annapurna Circuit With with Tilicho Lake is combined trek with the highest lake in the world which is located at an altitude 4,919m/16,138ft and the high Annapurna pass known as Thorang La which is 5,415m/17,769ft. Tilicho Lake is little bit off the main Annapurna Circuit Trek. So, less people travel there. It is the best ides to do this combined trek. This is challenging trek so mental and physical preparation is required.
Trek to Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake begins from Kathmandu as your flight will be landing here. The next morning, we catch bus to Jagat via Besisahar enjoying the beautiful villages, rivers, forest, rocky mountain, snow peak mountains, and terraced farms. Jagat (1,300m/4,265ft) is our trek starting point. Then continue walk to Manang where extra day required for acclimatized purpose. This day we will not be resting at the lodge, we will be trekking to Ice Lake or Glacier view point. It is necessary to follow the rule of CLIMB HIGH SLEEP LOW. Then we leave the main Annapurna Trail towards Tilicho Lake. Stop over Siri Kharka (4,060m/13,320ft) for a night before reaching to Tiliocho Base Camp. Then continue further up to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m/13,583ft) where you will be spending your night before Tilicho Lake. Next day arrive Tilicho lake (4,919m/16,138ft) where you will be enjoying the views of the mountains with Great Ice Lake, Tilicho. During the winter season you will see all ice on it but if you plan in September to November and April to May you will see blue, Crystal clear lake. Then trek back to the main Annapurna Trail to Yak Kharka to proceed the Thorang La Pass. Stop at High Camp before Thorang La pass 5(,415m/17,769ft) which makes easy to pass. Th trail leads downhill after the top of Thorang la to Muktinath (3,760m/12,623ft) which has holi temple for both Buddhist and Hindu.
We will take transport to Tatopani where the Hot Spring is located because it is not fun to walk on a road. But if you wish to walk then it takes 3 days to walk to Tatopani mostly on the road. Please contact us if you wish to walk. Tatopani has natural hot spring where we will be taking bath. Religiously it is important believe we. Wash all sins when we take bath at hot spring. Then trek up to Ghorepani Poon hill to experience the best sunrise. Finally, trek down to Nayapul to catch private transport to Pokhara for relaxing night before long bus journey to Kathmandu. Welcome to Nepal! Up on your arrival in Kathmandu airport, our official guide will come to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. If you are not too tired, we can do briefing session right after you check in. If you need sometime then we can do briefing later in the evening. You let us know about it please. During the briefing session you can ask questions you may have, our guide will check your gears and provide you sleeping bag and down jacket (rented). Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Drive through the highway is really scenic and you can see farm lands, forest, river, little town or villages, some snow peak mountains and rocky mountain. There are 2 ways from here to Chame, no doubt we will take higher route that has great views plus some village on the way. Thhe trek today leads us through the forest of Pine, OakT, and Fir. It is pleasant walk to Koto. Then continue to Chame where you will go to the Hot Spring to take deep bath. Later in the evening, walk around the village as this is the district headquarter of Manang district. As always, have a breakfast before leave the lodge in Chame then gentle climb following the Marsyangdi river to a narrow valley. From here short climb to the view point from where we can see the views of Paungda Danda Rock Face. It is a curved rock face which is about 1500m above Marshyandi River. Annapurna II iand Pissang peak can be seen from here. Walk to Dhukure Pokhari for lunch and eventually climb to the upper Pissang. Ewe choose upper Pissang to stay because of views and Monastery you can explore. Overnight at the lodge that has views of Annapurna and lower pisang.

Hot breakfast at the lodge and gentle walk to the ridge which offers the great views of the valley with Thorang peak. The trail drops down to the Thorang Khola and short climb to Thorang Phedi. There is another village right above the Thorang phedi called high camp. It is an optional village to continue for today if weather and your health conditions are perfect. It is easier pass over the Thorang La if we decide to climb. It is up to you and you need to discuss with guide and plan accordingly. If you decide to stay at the Thorang phedi, then it is better to climb up to the high camp for acclimatization hike.

Your most awaited day today. Early breakfast and proceed to climb to the top of Thorang La. It is challenging walk and we must cross the top before 11am to avoid the strong wind. You may need torch light if you stop in Thorang phedi. There is small tea shop along the way so you can stop for hot and expensive tea. Finally reach to the top of Thorang la pass which offers great view of Dhaulagiri, Thorang peak and many other peaks with Kaligandaki valley in the far distance. After quick photograph with the tibetain pray flags, we need to descend down to Muktinath for overnight.

Muktinath, a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. In hindu, Muktinath means liberation arena, which means Mukti Kshetra. The Muktinath Temple is considered a very famous Shakti Pitha. It is one of the 108 Siddhpeeth and it is one of Char Dham in Nepal. It is believed that Lord Vishnu got salvation here from the curse of Brinda. So, it is worshiped for Vishnu. There are 108 holy taps where Hindus take holy baths from every single tap believed to wash their sins.
The Buddhist name for Muktinath is Chumig Ghasa which means Hundred Waters in Tibetan. In addition to the water sprouts, you will also see the eternal flame at Muktinath, which has been burning there for more than 2000 years. Visit these holi sites in the morning before the breakfast. Then breakfast and take sharing jeep to Tatotapni. Some section of the driving section is rough but mostly paved. Driving through the World Deepest Gorge is just amazing with passing Rupse water fall. After reaching Tatopani, visit Hot Spring for bath. Overnight at the lodge.

Yes, you get arrival visa in Kathmandu airport. The cost for the visa is USD 30 for a 15-day, USD50 for 30-day or USD125 for 90-day. During the peak season there is a long que for the visa. So, it is suggested to fill up visa form and bring USD cash so you do not have to wait that long. It is always good to have an extra day or 2 in case of bad weather. You may need to wait for the pass in case of unexpected snow fall. It may happen even during the best trekking season like early October and Mid May.
The best and suggested time to trek to Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho lake are Mid-September to Mid December (Autumn) and March to late May (Spring). However, this trek is possible year around. We suggest you to trek during the best time of year but we can organize if you need to trek during the monsoon or winter. During the winter it can be done with proper winter gear.

During springtime, the average temperature is 20°C (68°F), with a high of 25°C (77°F) during clear days and a low of – 15°C (5°F) overnight above 4000 meters.
July/August through early-September (Monsoon)
During the monsoon, the average temperature is 22°C (71.6°F), with a high of 30°C (86°F) during clear days and a low of- 5°C (23°F) overnight above 4000 meters.
Mid September/October/November (Autumn)

Yes, you need a sleeping bag sleeping bags rated -10°C (14°F) to -20°C (- 4°F) as per the trekking season you plan. Also, our guide can provide you an extra blankets if needed at the teahouses. It is always good to have a liner which you can buy here in Kathmandu or you can bring from home.
Since your package covers three meals a day during the trek and entire accommodations, you do not need much cash. However, to pay your extra bills such as Wi-fi, charging phones/cameras, extra drinks, snacks or energy bars etc. This depends up on the personal nature but it is suggested to carry USD150 (in local currency).
In Kathmandu you can use your credit card but not along the trek. You need to carry local currency in cash.
In Kathmandu there are ATM available where you can take local currency out. There are ATM in Chame and Manang but sometime they may not work. So, please be prepared.
Yes, you need to pay 20% of the total amount as a deposit to secure your adventure. This you can pay either by wire transfer or by credit card online through our website.
We would require 20% deposit in advance which we can use for booking accommodations and flights. So, we would request you to pay before you arrive and secure your seat.
The remaining balance you can pay us when you arrive in Kathmandu by credit card or by cash. You can also transfer in to our account. If you decide to pay by card there is 4% bank fees extra on the top of total remaining amount. If you bring cash, you will save 4% extra fees.
Generally, there are no age restrictions on this trek. We have had 7 years old girl and 82 years old gentle man have completed this trek. But you need to be prepared mentally and physically.

On a trek we do offer mid - range accommodation. However, some lodges have attached bathroom and hot shower. Trek Ways Nepal offers attached bathroom at the available locations.

It is suggested to follow our standard itinerary. However, you can walk faster and finish the trek earlier but it is your own risk. Due to the altitude issue we have designed our itinerary and strongly suggest you to follow it.
No, we do not carry oxygen on this trek. Because there is oxygen available in the lodges and you can use if needed with extra cost.
If you get sick, we will take you down if you can walk. Or you can take horse down (you need to pay extra for horse ride). If you have basic altitude symptoms then we will stop for the day and see how you feel. If you feel better then we will continue up otherwise we will take you down. If you are serious then we will take you down by helicopter.
If you need to take helicopter rescue down to Kathmandu then we will coordinate with helicopter company who will deal with your insurance.
Unfortunately, you cannot buy insurance here in Nepal. You need to buy from your home country that should cover trip cancelation, trip interruption, helicopter evacuation, medical and health expenses etc.
Tipping is not in our culture but guides, Sherpa and porter expect tipping. You can tip at the end of the trip.
