Chandan Jirel is one of Nepal’s most respected trekking guides, carrying more than 30 years of experience in the Himalayas. Born in Jiri of Dolakha District, Nepal, the historic gateway to Everest before the Lukla flights. He grew up surrounded by the beauty and culture of the mountains. His journey in tourism began humbly as a porter, walking long trails and learning the true meaning of endurance, responsibility, and dedication. With a strong desire to grow, he pursued formal training at NATHAM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management) and achieved an excellent grade. This achievement, combined with years of practical knowledge, shaped him into a capable and confident trekking guide trusted by many travelers.
 

Over the years, Chandan has led trekkers across Nepal’s most iconic and remote regions, including Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Upper Mustang, and many lesser-known trails. He has completed numerous professional trainings related to first aid, mountain safety, altitude management, and responsible tourism, making him a reliable and highly skilled guide on all types of terrain.
