Hello and Namaste! Welcome to Nepal. Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our company representatives will meet and greet you. He will be standing with the board in front of the Arrival gate that mentions our company's name. After a heartfelt introduction between the two of you, he will assist you in getting into the car and drive you to one of the cozy hotels in Kathmandu.
After checking into the hotel, you can easily chill for a while in the Hotel room and make yourself comfortable. By spending enough time on the rest, you will get ready for the briefing at our office. We will talk about the details of our lower Dolpo trek during this brief presentation. You can ask any questions you may have during this session. If you arrive late then we can postpone this session to the next day. Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.
3 Star Hotel
After spending your wonderful night in the city, you will explore the heritage sites on this day. These ancient sites will provide a unique experience associated with the history and culture of the country. So, these heritage sites have significant value in the history of the country. This city is a showpiece of South Asia with a total of 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Among them, we will explore 4 of them. On this journey, trips will be made at Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You may also choose Patan Durbar Square as your destination instead of another one.
Finally, after completing the visit to these spots, we will return to the hotel to prepare our clothes and gear. You will get (a sleeping bag, and a down jacket) which you will have to return after the trek completion. Once the preparation is complete, you may relax and enjoy the time left at one of the surrounding cafés or restaurants. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today after having an early morning breakfast at our hotel, we will head towards the domestic airport of Kathmandu. We will be catching an hour's flight towards Nepalgunj. You will board a flight with the views of Himalayan, Hilly, and plain regions of Nepal. As Nepalgunj is one of Nepal's hottest places, we advise you to get dressed in a half-T-shirt and shorts before arriving. Upon reaching Nepalgunj we will head towards the town and visit some sightseeing places such as - a mini zoo, Muslim bazaar, or take a walk around the town. Also, we'll get everything ready for tomorrow's flight to Jhupal. Overnight at the hotel in Nepalgunj.

Similar to yesterday, we will have an early breakfast and catch a flight to Juphal which would take us only 45 minutes. The amazing flight brings you to the Himalayan foothills with spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna in the Northside. Since have arrived from the hottest place, you will feel a substantial amount of change in the temperature.
Stepping out from the airport you will soon get ready to trek for about 3 hours. We will pass through the terraced fields and the narrow gorge eventually leading us to Dunai. After reaching Dunai you can explore the village or chill around the village. Overnight at a lodge in Dunai.

which goes upstream and follows a narrow trail. We go past villages with monasteries, mani walls, and farming fields. Following the deep gorge with pine trees, we will take the clever path and soon the vibrant terraced field of Tarakot will welcome us.
Tarakot is a fortress town built by the local people of that area. We'll take a little stroll to Sandul Gompa after arriving here in the late afternoon. Sandul Gompa is one of the holy locations of our lower Dolpo trek that is tucked away between two steep hills. After exploring here we will come to Tarakot for an overnight stay.

Today we will climb the trail steadily and pass through several suspension bridges ultimately crossing the river twice. Crossing the river the paths will lead us to the cultivated fields. We will then pass through Laisicap, KhaniGaon which will be accompanied by the dazzling views of Hiuchuli and Churen Himal. Laini has a campsite near the waterfall where we will spend the night.

Starting the walk, we will head through the trail in the uphill direction which goes along the gorge of the Tarap River. Here alpine wildlife is full on display where you can also witness blue sheep and yak. The walk is really exciting as you pass through the narrow gorge where you can jump from one side to another. Finally, we will arrive at the Nawarpani village after crossing the high suspension bridge across the river to wrap off the day.

Today the Tarap Khola will lead our way up to Kammattarka which merges with Tarap Chu and Lang Khola which is flowing from the eastern side. We will make our way to Charkala and descend to the small valley and deep ravine. We will just follow the path that takes us above the tree lines of junipers.
After crossing the paths, several chorten and stupas indicate the trail of Dho Tarap. Here you can see the Stone walls are surrounded all over in a random manner. Dho Tarap used to be a named trading point for the people of Mustang and Tibet. This valley is inhabited by a few Tibetans and mostly by the Magar people. Spend the night in a camp at Dho Tarap.

Today we will spend an extra day in Dho Tarap to be used to the surroundings. We will use this day to do a short walk around the area and hike nearby viewpoints. We will explore numerous cultural heritage which include Monasteries, chortens, and Mani walls. Here, you'll also witness the traditional Tibetan lifestyle and their trading practices with the north as of the ancient times through Yaks. Eventually, you will get insights into how people live in this region with so much hardship. Spend the night in Camp at Dho Tarap.

After being comfortable with the surroundings, today we will head towards the Upper Tarap Valley which will follow the plain valley. Here you can see the flat and green sights on both sides of the river. Winding through the trail, you will also encounter one of the highest human settlements in the world. Finally enjoying the dazzling view of Mount Dhaulagiri, the trail will lead you to the rocky basin beneath the Numa La. Here, we will manage to make our campsite. Spend the night in Camp at Numa La Base Camp.

Today is one of the most strenuous and longest trekking days of our lower dolpo trek. After having an energizing breakfast we will cross the Numa La Pass at 5310m and steep climb to the top of the ridge of Numa La. From here, we will get astounding views of Mount Dhaulagiri and the barren lands of the Dolpo region. After exploring and spending enough time at this ultimate destination, we will descend to Pelung Tang to set up the Camp for an overnight stay.

On successive days, you will have to do strenuous climbs which will prove as a true adventure. Right after breakfast, we will do a steep climb to reach the top at the Baga la at 5070m. This spot offers stunning views of Trans Himalayan Landscapes, surrounding barren landscapes, and the Kanjirowa mountain range. After capturing this fabulous from a distance and near, we will do a downhill walk for almost 3 hours to arrive at Dajok Tang for an overnight stay.

Today we will pass through the stunning pine forests. Thenafter, you will enter the open grazing meadows with alpine shrubs after leaving the forest. Following the trail, we will have to cross several ups and downs along the route through gradual steep lands. Crossing this terrain we will reach Ringmo, which is our final destination for the day to spend the night.

Today is another free day of our lower Dolpo trek journey. And it is a special one as we go to one of the tranquil lakes of the Himalayas known as Phoksundo Lake. The lake is renowned for its strangely turquoise-like green color and its deepness. From this lake, we can get views of Ringmo village. And from this village, you can see Yak caravans walking in the direction north towards the Tibet region. As this is a free day you will have enough time to visit the nearby Tshowa which is one of the Bon Monastery built nearly 900 years ago. Further, as we explore the region, we will witness several glaciers above the lake region. Overnight at the camp in Ringmo village.

After a wonderful exploration around the Shey Phoksundo Lake, we will bid goodbyes and make our way downwards Chepka. From Chepka we will follow the trail over the massive hanging rock. Here, you can find medicinal herbs which can cure many of the health issues. Further, we will wind through a couple of villages, before ultimately arriving at Shyanta village for an overnight stay.

Today we follow the trail upwards to reach the village of Sulighat. On the way to this location, we will encounter big birch trees along the way which will lead us to the top of the ridge. From this ridge, we will have a wonderful view of the mountains and the Juphal village below. However, on this particular trail, you have to be more cautious as the trails are slippery and rugged. After enjoying the views of the surroundings you head towards Juphal. Here, you'll explore the busy market of the Juphal and arrive at the lodge to celebrate the successful journey.

Today we will take two flights. First, we take a flight to Nepalgunj from Juphal. After reaching Nepalgunj, we will catch a flight eventually to Kathmandu as it will be available. Enjoying the different landscapes of the country through the air you will finally arrive at Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be then transferred to the Spacious hotels in the town. Here, you can finally relax for a while and then head onto the nearby markets for the shopping. After wrapping up everything, we'll go for dinner and enjoy the final moments together. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today you will be bidding your final goodbyes to this lovely mountainous country as your lower Dolpo trek comes to an end. You may exchange emails with your buddies and collect your images from them before saying goodbye. Trek Ways Nepal representative will drop you off at the airport about three hours before your departure, bidding you goodbye with best wishes for your pleasant journey. We hope that when you go back home, you'll again consider revisiting Nepal in the future. So, till then, Happy traveling :)
